HOW TO GET INVOLVED WITH THE COMPANY
BOARD MEMBERSHIP, VOLUNTEERS, IN-KIND AND MONETARY CONTRIBUTIONS
The New Jersey Theatre Alliance, the consortium of Equity professional nonprofit theaters in New Jersey,
established The Annual Applause Awards to honor those who support these theaters. Every other year,
a theater member may choose someone to honor. In the past few years, ELTC has honored:
2007: ELTC Board President Frank L. Smith; 2005: Al and Sue DeRosa of The Cliveden Inn; and
in 2003, The Craig Family, proprietors of The Washington Inn, Lucky Bones, Love the Cook, and
The Cape May Winery.

When you see an East Lynne performance, you see actors on stage, but supporting their work is a
group of administrative, technical, and artistic people. And behind them is a group of individuals and
businesses who support the company. Without the collaboration of all of these people, there would be no
show. Your applause is not only for the actors but for all the other collaborators as well. It is only by
this means that East Lynne is able to keep ticket prices reasonable and maintain artistic quality.
We invite you to be a part of the only Equity professional theater in the country
dedicated to American Stage Classics by:
VOLUNTEERING YOUR TIME TO:
Manage the box office, your choice of evenings during the production season
Usher, your choice of evening during the production season
Answer office telephone, your choice of times during the day
Help with “Tales of the Victorian” on B&B porches, Thursdays during the summer; Saturdays in the fall
Distribute flyers and posters
Help set-up and break-down of set on Wednesdays and Saturdays

You may be surprised - your talents may be just what we are looking for!

FUNDRAISING EVENTS
Fundraising events can be large or intimate. For the past few Novembers, ELTC has presented "Supper
Clubs" at the Pelican Club and Aleathea's at the Inn of Cape May. On Nov. 8, 2007, board members
and volunteers, led by Clare Juechter, turned Aleathea’s Restaurant into the Casbah for 101 Nights: A
Magical Gala. Aleathea’s served up delicious hors d’oevres and dinner. Entertainment included an
auction, tarot readings by Joe Geores, Steve Haas on the piano, magician Robert Aberdeen, dancer Frank Smith, Peg Curran, Clare Juechter, Ralph Valeri,
Victoria Papale, and a scene from The Guardsman performed by Mark Lang and Alison J. Murphy, Joann Oxley, Steve Haas, Gayle Stahlhuth, Lee O'Connor
directed by Karen Case Cook. The first Historic Jackson Street Neighborhood Association Scholarship and Fran Geores at 2007's 101 Nights: A Magical Gala
in the Name of Bob and Toni Green was given to Caitlin Wallace. (photo credit: Aleksey Moryakov, Exit Zero)
THE NEXT GALA IS NOVEMBER 13! SEE YOU THERE!
On a smaller scale, individuals, in their homes, have thrown delightful fundraisers for ELTC.
In March, 2008, Elizabeth and Stuart Hodes in NYC sponsored an Afternoon Soiree with
entertainment and refreshments. In April,2006, at a home in Cape May Point, the guests had
the opportunity to take roles in a reading of Act Three of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town.
In 2006 and 2007, Board President Frank Smith arranged for bus trips to Peddler's Village
in Pennsylvania.

OR YOU MAY WISH TO CONTRIBUTE TO A SCHOLARSHIP FUND FOR ELTC INTERNS!
The Historic Jackson Street Neighborhood Association Scholarship Fund in the Name of Bob and Toni Green
Started in the fall of 2006 with a $5,000 donation from HJSNA, in honor of the Greens, who first owned The Puffin on Jackson St., ELTC intends to
announce the first recipient of this Fund at the Annual Gala in 2007. Bob Green was at one time President of the Board of ELTC and Toni came up with
the idea for ELTC's "Tales of the Victorians." They currently live in Florida.
The Mary Helen Fisher Scholarship Fund
Started in February of 2007 with a $1,000 donation, ELTC intends to give the first award at the Annual Gala in 2008. Mary Helen Fisher and Artistic
Director Gayle Stahlhuth met in 1973 while both were touring in Florida. Mary Helen worked in all aspects of theater including Broadway, national and
international tours, film, and television. She was in the beginning stages of working on a one-woman play for ELTC when she was diagnosed with cancer.
She loved Cape May and dropped in on Gayle and Lee whenever possible.
