I am pleased to announce that Sally Bingham will return to East Lynne this summer to direct the 2023 Student Summer Workshop.
In 2015, Sally directed my nephew Adam in TOM SAWYER, DETECTIVE for East Lynne--so I know what a great job she does. Sally writes her own scripts, and tailors them to the community. This year, inspired by my first East Lynne season--and its themes of Connection and Social Justice—and Dickens!--she will be staging a kid’s version of OLIVER TWIST. 2023 STUDENT THEATER WORKSHOP
A Two-Week Workshop | Dates: July 10-13 & 17-20...
Performance, Fri. July 21 at 7:00 PM, it's OLIVER TWIST!
Come join your workshop leaders, Sally and Marley Bingham, to learn more about this classic story, enhance theater and teamwork skills, and have a good time doing it!
Mission:
To provide a safe, nurturing, and professional atmosphere for ages 11-17 to rehearse and perform. No previous experience necessary and there are no auditions for admittance since ELTC believes that the theatrical experience should be accessible to everyone.
Workshop/Rehearsal Dates:
8 sessions plus performance: Monday–Thursday, July 10–13; and Monday - Friday, July 17–20; Performance July 21.
Main sessions will be from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. On the first day, July 10, parents/guardians may arrive a little early to talk to the staff, but class will begin at 1:00 PM.
Student Performance:
OLIVER TWIST, Friday, July 21 at 7:00 PM
Students will perform in front of an audience, open to the public, and admission free. Students need to arrive by 6:30 that evening.
Location for Workshop and Performance:
Cape May Presbyterian Church, 500 Hughes St. (corner of Decatur and Hughes) in Cape May, where the company is in residence.
Participants:
Ages 11-17. (A younger age is accepted if a sibling age 11 or over is also in the workshop.) Class limited to 15.
Fee: $250.00 to be paid in full; minimum of $50.00 per installment. Full amount must be received by July 1. If the student must cancel, fee will be fully refunded if cancellation is before June 30. After this date, $50.00 will be retained by ELTC.
My daughter had always wanted to try theater, and when your company started a summer workshop for students, she was thrilled. At first, she just wanted to work behind the scenes, but once she got there she jumped right in and did five different parts. She gained a great deal of confidence in being on stage. It was the highlight of her summer and she can't wait until next year.

SALLY BINGHAM, Workshop Director has been acting in, directing, and writing plays for over 35 years.
She was a founding member of Edge Productions and Over The Edge Comedy Improv Group in Philadelphia. She has appeared in many professional productions in a number of theater companies and festivals in Philadelphia and New York.
She has been teaching theater skills, improv, creativity, and team building for corporations and schools for over 30 years. She has received acclaim for her interpretation of classical plays for children, and is dedicated to making them fresh and relevant to today’s younger audience.

MARLEY BINGHAM, Assistant Director, is an upcoming senior at Stockton University, majoring in World languages. She has been involved with theater all her life, from playing corpses in the window of her mother’s storefront on Halloween to becoming a musical director for the Wildwood School District’s after-school theater program.
She was trained in musical theater at University of the Arts and has received vocal instruction throughout her high school and college years.
